The author

Kishiro classifies Battle Angel Alita as his début series, although he had some previous works.

The author has also written Ashen Victor, in the same universe of Battle Angel Alita, influenced by Frank Miller and Taiyo Matsumoto. There are also AquaKnight and War-Men.

The mangaka was born in March 20, 1967, in Japan. He has always draw the attention due to his artistic talents. In 1984, he won the 15th Shogakukan Newface with his work Kikai. Between 1984 and 1988, he had three works published as fanzines: Out Rigger, Iron Fist and Bangbuster. In 1988, his great professional career started.

The author is labeled as a rebel by friends; among his pastimes we could mention his fondness in creating computerized 3D images, fondness for old animes and motorcycles. He does not like fashion victims, alcoholic beverage and tobacco. His favorite foods are ramen and… flan. He hates shellfishes.
